1. Material Management

  • Receive, inspect, and record all incoming materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Verify quantity and quality of materials against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Arrange materials systematically in the store as per item category and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and storage of items to avoid mix-ups or damage.

2. Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate stock records and inventory reports (manual or ERP-based).
  • Conduct regular physical stock verification and report discrepancies.
  • Ensure optimum stock levels are maintained to meet project/site demands.
  • Identify slow-moving, excess, or obsolete items and report to management.

3. Material Issuance

  • Issue materials as per approved Material Requisition or Material Issue Voucher (MIV).
  • Record and update stock cards and ledgers immediately after each issue or receipt.
  • Ensure materials are issued only against authorized documentation.

4. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain GRN (Goods Received Note), MIV, Return Notes, and other store records.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly inventory reports and submit to management.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Finance for invoice verification and material reconciliation.

5. Safety and Housekeeping

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storage environment.
  • Follow safety and security procedures for handling hazardous or heavy materials.
  • Monitor proper stacking, shelving, and housekeeping practices to prevent accidents or losses.

6. Coordination

  • Coordinate with Procurement, Project, and Accounts departments for material requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers and transporters for timely delivery and collection of goods.
  • Support in project mobilization and demobilization activities.
