Assistant Pastry Chef
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Assistant Pastry Chef to support daily production in our bakery, specializing in cakes, cookies, and brownies. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a love for high-quality baked goods made from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and baking of cakes, cookies, brownies, and other baked goods
- Follow established recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
- Support cake assembly, frosting, filling, and basic decorating as needed
- Prepare batters, doughs, fillings, icings, and toppings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations
- Assist with inventory management, ingredient prep, and storage
- Help with daily opening and closing tasks
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous bakery or pastry experience preferred (professional kitchen experience a plus)
- Knowledge of baking techniques, measurements, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Able to stand for long periods
