Full job description
Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance
- Plan, supervise, and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of all electrical and instrumentation systems in the plant (HT/LT panels, transformers, MCCs, PLCs, SCADA, motors, drives, sensors, etc.).
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and ensure quick resolution to minimize downtime.
- Monitor performance of control systems, calibration of instruments, and automation upgrades.
- Ensure proper documentation of electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities.
Mechanical Maintenance
- Oversee mechanical maintenance of furnaces, conveyors, crushers, rotary equipment, hydraulic systems, pumps, blowers, and pollution control equipment.
- Coordinate with mechanical team for preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance.
- Identify areas for improvement to reduce breakdowns and increase equipment reliability.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out as per safety standards and statutory regulations (Electrical Safety, Hazardous Waste Management, Pollution Control Norms, etc.).
- Implement lockout-tagout (LOTO) and other safety practices during maintenance jobs.
- Coordinate with EHS team to ensure compliance with ISO/OSHAS standards.
People & Vendor Management
- Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors for effective execution of jobs.
- Train team members on electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical systems.
- Liaise with vendors for spare parts, AMCs (Annual Maintenance Contracts), and technical support.
Planning & Reporting
- Prepare and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical assets.
- Maintain maintenance records, downtime analysis, and equipment history.
- Report key KPIs such as MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and energy consumption trends.
