A/V Supervisor

Job Description

  • Supervise the AV team and coordinate daily operations.
  • Set up, test, operate, and troubleshoot audio, video, lighting, and conferencing equipment for meetings, weddings, corporate functions, and live entertainment.
  • Liaise with clients, event planners, and internal departments to understand AV requirements and deliver customized solutions.
  • Ensure AV equipment is maintained, properly stored, and serviced regularly.
  • Provide technical support during events and respond promptly to issues.
  • Maintain inventory of AV equipment and track usage.
  • Train and mentor AV staff on equipment usage, safety procedures, and guest service standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and operational policies.
  • Collaborate with the IT and Engineering teams for system integration and maintenance.
  • Stay current with AV trends and recommend upgrades or new technologies.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Audio Visual Technology, Electronics, IT, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in AV operations, preferably in a luxury hotel/resort or events venue.
  • At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in operating audio mixers, microphones, speakers, projectors, video conferencing systems, LED walls, lighting consoles, and digital signage.
  • Basic knowledge of IT networks and cabling is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Customer-focused attitude with a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Must be flexible with working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physically able to lift and transport equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • May require working outdoors or in high-pressure event environments.
