Full job description

  • Clean and maintain guest rooms according to established standards and procedures, including making beds, dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Replace linens and towels, replenish guest amenities, and restock supplies such as toiletries, coffee, and tea.
  • Inspect guest rooms for damage or maintenance issues and report any discrepancies or concerns to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure that all guest room equipment and appliances are in proper working order, and report any malfunctions or deficiencies for prompt resolution.
  • Follow safety and security protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage areas, linen closets, and housekeeping carts, and properly dispose of trash and recyclables.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests for additional amenities, housekeeping services, or assistance with room-related issues.
  • Collaborate with other members of the housekeeping team to prioritize tasks, coordinate work assignments, and ensure timely completion of daily cleaning responsibilities.
  • Adhere to departmental productivity and quality standards, striving to exceed guest expectations and enhance overall satisfaction.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to stay updated on housekeeping procedures, safety protocols, and guest service standards.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role in the hospitality industry is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to interact courteously and professionally with guests and colleagues.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift and carry heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
