Position Overview
The Transport Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the company’s transportation department. This role ensures the efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of vehicles, goods, or staff while maintaining compliance with company policies, traffic regulations, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily transportation activities, including vehicle scheduling, routing, and driver assignments.
- Ensure timely delivery and pickup of goods, staff, or services as per business requirements.
- Monitor vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules to minimize costs and downtime.
- Ensure drivers follow safety protocols, traffic rules, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel logs, and service reports.
- Handle and resolve transport-related issues, delays, or emergencies.
- Liaise with management, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth transport operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to ensure proper upkeep and roadworthiness.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate drivers and support staff.
- Prepare reports on transport activities, performance, and compliance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- previous experience in transportation/logistics supervision.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management, transport regulations, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and transport management systems.
