Job Purpose
The Cashier – Hypermarket is responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring excellent customer service, and supporting smooth store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process sales transactions quickly and accurately using the POS system.
- Handle cash, card, and digital payments while maintaining proper cash handling procedures.
- Issue receipts, refunds, and exchange transactions as per store policy.
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Handle customer queries, complaints, or escalations at the point of sale.
- Balance cash registers and prepare daily cash reports for submission.
- Collaborate with floor staff to maintain smooth store operations.
- Follow all store policies, procedures, and loss prevention measures.
- Assist in inventory counts, stock replenishment, and merchandising support when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education is a plus.
- Minimum [X] years of experience as a cashier or in retail.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
- Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and integrity in handling cash and transactions.
