Full job description

Job Purpose

The Cashier – Hypermarket is responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring excellent customer service, and supporting smooth store operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process sales transactions quickly and accurately using the POS system.
  • Handle cash, card, and digital payments while maintaining proper cash handling procedures.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, and exchange transactions as per store policy.
  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Handle customer queries, complaints, or escalations at the point of sale.
  • Balance cash registers and prepare daily cash reports for submission.
  • Collaborate with floor staff to maintain smooth store operations.
  • Follow all store policies, procedures, and loss prevention measures.
  • Assist in inventory counts, stock replenishment, and merchandising support when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education is a plus.
  • Minimum [X] years of experience as a cashier or in retail.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and integrity in handling cash and transactions.

  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
