Full job description

Ensure the safety, reliability, and compliance of school transport by operating vehicles safely, maintaining them in good condition, and following all transportation policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vehicle Maintenance

• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Report mechanical issues and maintenance requirements.
• Monitor fuel consumption and mileage.
• Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle.

2. Compliance

• Comply with all traffic laws and school policies.
• Refrain from smoking, consuming alcohol, or using a mobile phone while driving (except in emergencies when safely parked).
• Wear the required uniform and maintain a professional appearance.
• Attend required safety and first aid training.

3. Transportation & Passenger Safety

• Drive safely while considering traffic and weather conditions.
• Follow approved routes and schedules.
• Ensure student safety and report behavioral concerns.
• Report delays, accidents, and emergencies, and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
