Job Title: Restaurant CaptainJob Summary

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Restaurant Captain to supervise front-of-house operations and ensure exceptional dining experiences for our guests. The Restaurant Captain will lead and support the service team, coordinate daily restaurant activities, maintain service standards, and ensure smooth communication between guests, kitchen staff, and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of restaurant servers, hosts, and support staff.
  • Ensure guests receive prompt, professional, and courteous service at all times.
  • Welcome guests, assist with seating, and handle special requests or complaints professionally.
  • Monitor food and beverage service to ensure quality, accuracy, and presentation standards are met.
  • Assign duties to service staff and oversee table service during shifts.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate team members to maintain high service standards.
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper setup of the dining area before, during, and after service.
  • Monitor staff grooming, hygiene, and compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in managing reservations, table turnover, and guest flow.
  • Support inventory control of restaurant supplies and report shortages.
  • Prepare shift reports and communicate operational issues to management.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of POS systems and restaurant operations.
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
