Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, negotiating and guiding the process of contracts, logistics, procurement of materials to ensure cost-effective purchase of all materials and services whilst ensuring quality control and compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.
Reporting to Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Manage the development of departmental objectives, policies and procedures pertaining to procurement.
- Create and implement procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges within industry.
- Lead transformational activities to build procurement organizational capabilities and improve procurement efficiency.
- Manage the negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Manage the Procurement function ensuring that all procurement activities are completed in a timely manner and that all contracts are drafted in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws.
- Oversee the enlisting and retention of suppliers that provide high quality products and services at competitive prices while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
- Lead negotiations with vendors/suppliers on project procurement contracts; remain up to date on the latest procurement practices and trends.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing, dealing with suppliers in the region, contracting, tendering, commodity, markets and price trends, logistics, vendor evaluation and selection; 2 years of which should be in managerial role.
- Bachelor’s degree in any field; preferably in Business Administration or IT.
- Chartered Procurement Manager is a plus.
- Project Management is a plus.
