Full job description

The Plumbing Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all plumbing and drainage installation activities at construction sites. The role ensures that plumbing works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day plumbing installation activities on site.
  • Ensure plumbing, drainage, water supply, and sanitary systems are installed according to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor work progress and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and other trades to avoid conflicts and delays.
  • Plan and allocate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment required for plumbing works.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project requirements.
  • Review shop drawings and ensure installations comply with project standards and local authority regulations.
  • Monitor testing, flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning of plumbing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to plumbing installations.
  • Maintain daily progress reports, manpower records, and material consumption reports.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of plumbing materials and equipment.
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates on work progress.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, drainage, water supply, and sanitary systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, specifications, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of local authority regulations and construction standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant trade certification is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in plumbing supervision within construction projects.
  • Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use developments is preferred.
  • GCC/UAE construction experience is highly desirable.

Other Requirements:

  • Familiarity with testing and commissioning procedures for plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of plumbing codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Ability to effectively supervise plumbers, foremen, and skilled workers.
