Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily housekeeping operations of the hotel, ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation. The role includes supervising housekeeping staff, conducting inspections, and ensuring excellent guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping attendants and public area cleaners.
- Assign work schedules and room assignments to housekeeping staff.
- Inspect guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and facilities to ensure cleanliness and compliance with hotel standards.
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, training, and guidance when necessary.
- Ensure adequate stock levels of cleaning supplies, linens, guest amenities, and housekeeping equipment.
- Report maintenance issues and follow up with the Engineering/Maintenance Department for timely resolution.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and special requirements professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and hotel policies and procedures.
- Prepare daily housekeeping reports, room status updates, and staff attendance records.
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation of housekeeping staff.
- Coordinate with Front Office and other departments regarding room readiness and guest requirements.
- Ensure lost and found procedures are properly followed and documented.
- Monitor productivity and maintain quality standards within the department.
