The Food Safety & Hygiene Officer is responsible for supporting and monitoring food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards across restaurant outlets and central kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, HACCP requirements, and local health regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support hygiene and sanitation standards across restaurants and central kitchen operations.
- Ensure daily compliance with HACCP, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen, storage, preparation, production, and service areas.
- Check cleanliness of equipment, utensils, food preparation areas, and production zones.
- Monitor proper food handling, storage, labeling, expiry control, and temperature records.
- Ensure staff follow personal hygiene, grooming, and food handling standards.
- Follow up on cleaning schedules, sanitation procedures, and hygiene checklists.
- Coordinate with pest control and waste management service providers when required.
- Conduct basic hygiene and food safety training for kitchen and restaurant staff.
- Maintain hygiene inspection reports, checklists, audit records, and corrective action logs.
- Report hygiene issues or non-compliance to management and follow up on corrective actions.
- Support internal and external audits, municipality inspections, and food safety visits.
- Ensure central kitchen production follows hygiene standards before distribution to outlets.
Requirements
- Experience in F&B hygiene, food safety, restaurant operations, or central kitchen operations.
- Good knowledge of HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Ability to monitor multiple outlets and production areas.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.
- Good communication and staff training ability.
- Ability to prepare reports, checklists, and basic compliance records.
- Food safety certification is preferred.
- Previous experience in restaurants, catering, hotels, or central kitchens is an advantage.
