Role Summary
Reporting to the Head Chef, the Cook 2 will assist in food preparation, participate in creating and maintaining a positive work environment, and maintain high internal/external customer service standards.
Key Accountabilities
Ensures food preparation and service delivery standards are consistently achieved and maintained.
Participates in the production of all event orders
Ensures quality, quantity and presentation of all food prepared meets the Coast Hotels standards for freshness, appearance and consistency
In conjunction with the Head Chef ensures correct daily daily receiving, storage and rotation of food are carried out
Prepares and follows a daily prep sheet
Prepares and cooks food as outlined in the menu description
Assists in the coordination of timing for food preparation and service
Is committed to working safely, including adherence to food safety regulations, hygiene and cleanliness
Ensures the security and control of all food stocks used in the kitchen to ensure minimum food wastage
Performs other duties as assigned and directed by Management
Required Education and Experience
Level 1 food safe
Minimum of 1 years’ experience in similar position required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Self-motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills required
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking, multi-functional team environment required
Demonstrated superior customer service required
Good verbal and written communication skills in English is essential
Able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, breakfasts, and holidays
Must be able to lift 50lb
