A Purpose-Driven Role in a Casual Dining Restaurant

About Us:

Spirits Bar & Grill at the Old Alcohol Plant is more than just a restaurant; we are a casual dining experience that is deeply committed to our community and sustainable practices. Our mission is to provide delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere, while also serving as a vital support system for Bayside Housing & Services. A portion of our proceeds directly funds their efforts to house and support some of the most vulnerable members of our community. We take pride in our onsite gardens, which supply our kitchen with fresh produce and edible flowers, providing a unique and genuine farm-to-table experience for our guests. As a member of our team, you play a direct role in this mission, serving not only our guests but also a greater cause.

Position Summary:

As a Server at Spirits Bar & Grill at the Old Alcohol Plant, you are the face of our restaurant and the heart of our mission. You will be responsible for providing exceptional, friendly, and attentive service to our guests, ensuring they have an enjoyable dining experience. Beyond the traditional serving duties, you will also be an ambassador for our cause and our unique farm-to-table approach, sharing our story with guests and helping them feel connected to our community-focused mission and our gardens.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Service & Hospitality:

Greet guests warmly upon arrival, making them feel welcome and comfortable.
Take food and beverage orders accurately, using TOAST, our Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
Provide menu recommendations and answer questions about ingredients, preparation methods, and daily specials.
Deliver food and drinks in a timely and professional manner, checking back with guests to ensure satisfaction.
Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer assistance, such as refilling beverages or clearing plates.
Handle guest inquiries and concerns with patience and professionalism, escalating issues to management when necessary.
Mission & Sustainability Advocacy:

Be knowledgeable about our partnership with Bayside Housing & Services.
Confidently and passionately share our mission with guests, explaining how their patronage directly supports our mission.
Act as an informed guide to our farm-to-table approach. This includes being familiar with the produce and edible flowers currently being harvested from our onsite gardens and being able to highlight their use in our dishes and beverages.
Answer guest questions about our non-profit’s work and our sustainable practices, connecting them to the larger purpose of their dining experience.
