Houseman / Laundry Attendant

Position Summary

The Houseman / Laundry Attendant is responsible for supporting housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient environment throughout the hotel. This position assists with linen transportation, laundry operations, inventory stocking, cleanliness of work areas, and general support duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Wear assigned uniform and name tag at all times.
  • Transport clean and dirty bed linens, towels, hand towels, washcloths, bath mats, and other laundry items between guestrooms and the laundry area.
  • Assist with washing, drying, folding, sorting, and preparation of hotel linens.
  • Review and inspect linens for quality control before distribution; remove stained or damaged linens for treatment or replacement.
  • Ensure the smooth flow of linens in and out of the laundry area.
  • Monitor and assist with stocking laundry supplies, cleaning products, and housekeeping inventory items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room and surrounding work areas at all times.
  • Assist housekeeping staff with light maintenance-related duties when requested, including changing light bulbs, replacing batteries, and cleaning AC filters.
  • Assist housekeepers and laundry staff with linen pickup and delivery as needed.
  • Remove and properly dispose of hotel trash bags and parking garage trash in designated dumpsters.
  • Remove old, damaged, or unusable linens from inventory as required.
  • Follow all hotel safety procedures and use only authorized cleaning products.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull linens, supplies, and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Previous housekeeping, laundry, or hotel experience preferred but not required.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
