Job Summary
The Island Bites Cashier/Food Prep is responsible for meeting and greeting customers, taking orders, answering questions about the menu, taking payments, and helping with customer service and cleaning. Other responsibilities include providing recommendations, ensuring order accuracy, addressing guest concerns, and following health and safety guidelines. For this role, you should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive experience from the moment they arrive until their departure. Ultimately, you’ll ensure we provide excellent customer service and a pleasant experience to our guests.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet and welcome Guests.
- Knows the hours/days of operation.
- Knows all pricing, promotions and discounts that apply to pricing.
- Prepare food orders.
- Always maintains a professional presence.
- Completes shift sidework requirements.
- Responsible for cleanliness of menus, and entrance.
- Properly handle food and maintain food at required temps.
- Interact with customers, take orders, and serve snacks/drinks and process payments in POS system (TOAST)
- Assess customer’s needs, performances, and make recommendations.
- Stay Guest focused and nurture an excellent Guest experience.
- Continuously maintains a neat, clean, organized, safe, and comfortable environment for out Guests and Team members.
- Positive attitude and communication skills.
- Genuinely thank the Guest.
- Adheres to appearance and uniform standards.
- Adheres to all internal controls, policies and procedures.
Shared Responsibilities:
- Answer the phone with an appropriate greeting.
- Assists other team members in cleaning, clearing, and restocking whenever possible.
- Assist other team members in maintaining the cleanliness of the facility.
- Welcoming all Guests.
- Cheerfully accommodate the needs and requests of all guests.
