Hotel General Manager – Courtyard by Marriott
Primary Objective
We are seeking an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead the daily operations of our Courtyard by Marriott property and provide strategic direction that supports operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and long-term success. This role requires hands-on leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and extensive experience working within Marriott-branded hotels or comparable internationally recognized hotel brands.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee Hotel Operations
Lead and supervise all hotel departments including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and Guest Services.
Establish clear departmental goals, performance standards, and accountability measures.
Ensure daily operations align with Marriott brand standards and guest service expectations.
Drive Operational Efficiency
Plan and coordinate daily hotel activities to maximize productivity and service quality.
Delegate responsibilities effectively and implement operational improvements that enhance efficiency and profitability.
Monitor labor, expenses, and departmental performance metrics.
Guest Experience & Relations
Maintain a strong presence throughout the property and interact professionally with guests.
Address guest concerns promptly and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
Foster a service-driven culture consistent with Marriott hospitality standards.
Facility & Property Management
Coordinate with the Maintenance team regarding equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, renovations, and property improvements.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and overall property condition meet brand expectations.
Compliance & Brand Standards
Ensure full compliance with Marriott operational procedures, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
Prepare for and maintain successful brand audits and inspections.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience as a Hotel General Manager or in a senior hotel leadership role within a Marriott-branded property or comparable full-service/select-service hotel brand (Hilton, Hyatt, IHG etc.).
Strong knowledge of hotel operations, revenue management, guest services, and hospitality best practices.
Demonstrated understanding of Marriott brand culture, operational standards, and guest satisfaction metrics strongly preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team development abilities.
Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, labor costs, and operational performance.
Ability to make sound decisions and resolve issues efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
Requirements
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Hotel General Manager or comparable senior leadership role.
Required: Minimum 3 years of experience working within a Marriott-branded hotel environment.
Candidates with leadership experience in comparable internationally recognized hotel brands may also be considered; however, Marriott experience is strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
