WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Welcome to the world of preventative maintenance—an art form that keeps the Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel in top-notch condition! We’re on the lookout for a dedicated Rooms Preventative Maintenance Technician to ensure our guests experience the utmost comfort during their stay. This is a full time permanent position that guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week at $20 per hour with a $2 increase after your 90 day probation based on performance.

As a Rooms Preventative Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the overall quality and functionality of guest rooms. Your focus will be on preventing issues before they arise, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB
Some of the key responsibilities of our Rooms Preventative Technician include:

  • Responsible for the upkeep and repair of guestrooms following established procedures and standard guidelines.
  • Promptly report any unusual findings or safety hazards to the Chief Engineer or General Manager for resolution.
  • Document all work performed on room inspection sheets and work orders to maintain an organized record.
  • Keep a daily log of completed room maintenance tasks and input relevant information into the System program.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the PM storage area and tools cart, ensuring all necessary tools, parts, and materials are readily available.
  • Prior to deep cleaning, move furniture as required to facilitate maintenance tasks.
  • Complete training certifications and adhere to safety standards, including MSDS, PPE, WHMIS. Be prepared to respond in hotel emergency situations.
  • Understand and practice hotel emergency fire procedures to ensure a safe environment.
  • Provide lateral service when possible to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Participate in daily line-ups to understand and support the property’s philosophy and standards.
  • Perform all duties as assigned by the Engineering leader.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED
Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma and a recognized trade certificate or multiple certifications
  • Vocational background in building maintenance, painting, or fabric care
  • Ability to work simple mathematics calculations
  • Ability to think clearly under high pressure or in emergency situations
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Priority given to candidates with previous hotel or building maintenance experience—your past adventures matter!
  • Show off your skills in Electronic Systems, Carpentry, Kitchen Equipment, Energy Conservation, and General Building Maintenance—your diverse knowledge will be your power-ups!
