This will be an hourly position with the ability to work overtime.

We are currently seeking a General Laborer to join our team. This individual will be primarily responsible for assisting with hands-on physical labor and machine operation. You may be tasked with cleaning, sweeping, stacking, removing debris, and moving parts in line with production and safety. The ideal candidate would be able to work with various tools and machines. Knowledge of shapes, sizes, and weights of structural steel is essential, but can be trained.

**This is a first shift position with 11 hour shifts from 6am-5pm. CURRENTLY WORKING 60 HOUR WEEKS DUE TO PRODUCTION DEMANDS. Potential for overtime on a regular basis depending on production schedule. Pay based on experience.**

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver supplies to workstations
• Prepare work areas by cleaning, organizing, and setting up necessary supplies or machinery
• Load, unload, stack, discard structural steel material onto or off conveyors, tables or floors using yourself, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment
• Examining structural materials to verify conformance to AISC quality standards
• Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure a safe and positive work atmosphere
• Identify and report safety hazards in the workplace
• Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to often work long hours doing repetitive movements and standing for long periods of time
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods
• Ability to follow instructions for operating equipment and execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
• Ability to work in a dusty/smoky environment at times
• Basic familiarity with power tools and machinery
