Bartender

Full job description

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Renaissance EIA is looking for a fun, creative, and passionate bartender to join our team! We’re seeking someone who knows their way around a cocktail shaker and has a knack for making even the pickiest customer happy. This position is a permanent full-time position for $15.50 an hour plus gratuities, with a minimum of 30 hours a week.

As our resident mixologist, you’ll be responsible for crafting delicious drinks that will have our guests coming back for more. But it’s not just about the drinks – we’re looking for someone who can also put on a show. Think Tom Cruise in “Cocktail” – that’s the kind of energy we’re after!

Your daily duties will include whipping up classic cocktails, creating your own signature drinks, and even inventing some new ones. But you won’t just be making drinks – you’ll also be entertaining our guests, chatting them up, and making them feel right at home.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Kick off each shift like a pro—day bartenders verify liquor deliveries, while night bartenders restock the bar to perfect par levels and ensure security and loss prevention.
  • Hold down the fort! Never leave the bar unless a manager, supervisor, or fellow bartender steps in to relieve you.
  • Team up to keep the bar shining: mop floors, wipe stainless, melt ice, clean counters, and help with setup like unlocking liquor, icing, and preparing glassware, juices, and garnishes.
  • Keep your bartender toolkit ready—standard recipes, SOPs, and sanitation checklists are always within reach.
  • Take drink orders in proper sequence, make only pre rung beverages, and ensure every red lined ticket is accurate before crafting the perfect cocktail.
  • Red-line all drink orders, checking for correct number of drinks and correct pricing. No drinks to be made without a pre-rung guest check.
  • Mix every drink with precision, flair, and jigger accuracy—delivering cocktails that meet Renaissance standards every time.
  • Ensuring compliance with provincial liquor and food safety regulations.
  • Bring the hospitality magic: serve guests promptly, warmly, and professionally while supporting the team and delivering an unforgettable experience at every shift.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED
A service bartender must possess the following qualifications:

  • Guest satisfaction awareness and attitude.
  • Impeccable standards of appearance.
  • Honesty and integrity above reproach.
  • Able to accept constructive critique.
  • Able and willing to perform basic cleaning duties.
  • Strong commitment to the job.
  • Technical beverage knowledge and expertise.
  • Passion for mixology.
  • Flexibility to work mornings and evenings is preferred.
