Duties

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
• Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and specialty coatings using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools
• Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute painting plans and specifications
• Perform drywall finishing, plastering, stucco application, and restoration work to achieve smooth surfaces ready for painting
• Execute renovation projects involving trim carpentry, fixture installation, framing, masonry, and concrete finishing as needed
• Conduct quality inspections throughout the project to ensure adherence to safety standards and client expectations
• Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly

Skills

• Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics, and color theory for effective project planning
• Proficiency in residential and commercial painting techniques with experience in industrial painting and restoration projects
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, welding equipment, and maintenance of equipment for various tasks
• Experience with caulking, trim carpentry, framing carpentry, masonry, stucco application, drywall finishing, plastering, and fixture installation
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately while applying basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Familiarity with construction site safety protocols gained through construction site experience or handyman background
• Knowledge of renovation processes including remodeling work across different building types
