Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our culinary team at the Red Lion Port Angeles Hotel. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring food safety standards are met, and delivering exceptional service to our guests. Your culinary skills and passion for food will contribute to the vibrant dining experience we strive to provide.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace at all times
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient preparation for daily service
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders during busy periods
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools
- Support catering events and special functions with meal preparation and serving
Experience
- Prior dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Experience working in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
- Proven kitchen experience within the food industry or restaurant settings
- Knowledge of culinary practices including knife skills, meal preparation, and food safety protocols
- Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and serving processes is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
