Job Description

As a Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Position Type: Full Time – Morning

Pay Rate: $19.23 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $4.30. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

Requirements:

  • 20+ Years of Age
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Ability to use computers – basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, travelers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns and/or documenting activity according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and high-traffic locations while reporting suspicious behavior, unattended items, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support access control and screening-related post orders as assigned, helping to verify authorized entry, direct foot traffic, and/or provide information to the public and site personnel.
