The Explorer Hotel is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team in Yellowknife. This role is ideal for a skilled and dependable professional with a strong culinary background who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Position Summary
The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and executing high-quality dishes while maintaining the standards and reputation of The Explorer Hotel. This position reports directly to the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef.
Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to established recipes and standards
  • Maintain consistency, quality, and portion control across all dishes
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols
  • Assist with prep work, station setup, and service execution
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
  • Support inventory management and minimize food waste

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional kitchen or culinary experience
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
  • Strong time management and teamwork skills
  • Culinary training or certification is an asset
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
