The Hotel Grand Pacific Kitchen team is growing! We’re looking to add another First Cook to our close-knit culinary team. As an independent 4-star property in the heart of Victoria, we offer a professional work environment and actively support the internal growth and development of our employees.

The selected candidate will prepare high-quality dishes for Fathom Restaurant and assist in supervising other cooks to ensure excellence in execution and presentation.

Hourly Pay: $26.18-$29.76

Duties:

  • Under the guidance of the Chef de Partie, become familiar with the planning, organizing, cooking, and presentation of all items produced on the Service Line
  • Prepare, cook, and present food for Fathom Restaurant while maintaining the standards and consistency established by the kitchen management team
  • Guide and supervise a designated section of the kitchen in the absence of a Chef de Partie
  • Stay current with the latest trends in culinary arts
  • Monitor and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety within the kitchen
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef

What We’re Looking For:

  • Red Seal Certification and valid Food Safe certification
  • Minimum 2 years of well-rounded culinary experience, including banquet experience
  • Experience in a fine dining restaurant preferred
  • Accountable for all decisions made during a shift
  • Strong delegation and leadership skills
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is an asset
  • Available to work full-time hours
  • Open availability for morning and evening shifts
