Job Description:
The Sales Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the sales department, assisting the inside Sales Representatives and Outside Sales Representatives. This role plays a key part in supporting the quoting, order entry, and customer communication process for industrial products. The position works closely with sales, operations, production, purchasing and shipping to ensure accurate quotes, timely order processing, and strong customer service.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.
Responsibilities
Sales & Quoting Support
- Assist the sales team with preparing and processing customer quotes for industrial products.
- Enter and process customer orders in the company ERP system.
- Verify pricing, product specifications, and order details before submission.
- Track quote activity and assist with follow-ups as requested by the sales team.
- Maintain organized records of quotes, orders, and customer documentation.
Customer & Order Coordination
- Serve as a point of contact for customers regarding order status, lead times, and product availability.
- Coordinate communication between customers, Inside and Outside Sales.
- Work with production, purchasing, and shipping teams to ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.
- Assist with resolving order discrepancies, documentation issues, or delivery questions.
Administrative & Sales Operations Support
- Maintain accurate customer records and pricing information within the ERP or CRM system.
- Assist outside sales representatives with meeting coordination, customer follow-ups, and travel logistics when needed.
- Coordinate sample requests, product information, and technical documentation.
- Support the sales team with reports, spreadsheets, and general administrative tasks.
