ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE:

Reports To: General Manager

SCOPE:

Develop and implement the total sales and marketing effort of the hotel, including securing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts and executing sales and marketing strategies to maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining customer satisfaction.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preform the activities of hotel sales, providing leadership and motivation necessary to implement effective sales and marketing strategies and to maximize the generation of hotel sales/revenues. Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/or convention business, to include room sales and public room/limited catering sales. Manage the departmental budget and monitor sales activities/performance to assure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan and to accurately report variances/projections to management. Schedule conventions and business group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients. Develop hotel level tactical sales plans to support overall system wide sales plans/strategies and programs. Develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups and companies, and attend out-of-town conventions to generate convention and group business. Assist the General Manager in the development and update of the hotel level business plan to include input on sales goals and plans that support the overall business and sales strategies of the company. Serves as member of Executive Committee/Leadership Team, Manager on Duty, and works with other leadership personnel to establish and implement hotel service standards to achieve maximum profitability and efficiency. In coordination with General Manager, serve as hotel representative for media related inquiries and refer sensitive matters to the corporate Public Relations Department if necessary.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: All Hotel Departments: to communicate scheduled functions and coordinate delivery of services to the customer. To discuss and exchange information, as appropriate, on tactical sales plans and assure consistency with overall system-wide sales plans/strategies.
