Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate must be 18 years old to work here and will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, with experience in handling various species. This role involves providing support in the daily care of animals, ensuring their health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Be able to perform the physically demanding tasks of an Animal Care Attendant.

Qualifications, Skills, and Expectations:

• Proficiency in standard animal care skills, including but not limited to proper handling and restraint techniques, feeding, watering, and cleaning techniques, and the attitude to learn.
• Must possess reliable transportation.
• Must have basic knowledge of common dog and cat care.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Affection for animals, concern for their welfare, and a willingness to accommodate animals in the workplace.
• Maturity, good judgment, and a professional personal appearance
• Must be able to work around cats and dogs with varying temperaments, including those that are diseased, injured, and/or potentially aggressive.
• Oversee the feeding, watering, walking, medicating, and cleaning of animals in your designated area of the rescue.
• Perform deep cleaning twice daily of your assigned area and throughout the day necessary cleaning.
• Work with other staff to efficiently complete assigned tasks.
• Rehabilitate and care for animals of all personality types.
• Communicate with medical staff on the health of animals in your designated area.
• Keep the management informed of any updates, changes, or suggestions relating to animal care in your designated area.
• Coordinate with potential adopters during the meet and greets to find the perfect fit for them based on their asks.
• Inform the medical staff of medical conditions/concerns.
• Ensure proper care of the animals in your designated area.
• All other duties as assigned by the management.
• Be an ambassador for Fuzzy Friends Rescue, by sharing the work and mission with your friends and family and be knowledgeable of the various ways to support our work.
• Properly maintain equipment used to complete job assignments and keep such equipment and tools in good working condition. Notify management as to major repairs needed or new equipment necessary to adequately complete projects.
