Position Summary
Line Cook Helper will be responsible for assisting in preparing and cooking a variety of meals in accordance with established recipes and standards under the direction of the Food and Beverage Supervisor with the Park Director as the Manager. The Line Cook must help to maintain a clean and organized kitchen while always ensuring food safety and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies before and during service.
- Ensure food is cooked and held at proper temperatures in compliance with food safety standards and is presented in an appealing manner.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene guidelines, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils throughout the shift.
- Assist with inventory control by receiving, storing, and properly rotating stock (FIFO) and reporting low or depleted items.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Adjust and adapt recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions or special requests when needed.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, grills, fryers, and knives.
- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and satisfaction.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including those related to health, safety, and workplace conduct.
- Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries, ensuring that all items are stored promptly and correctly.
- Support cleaning and closing duties, including sanitizing surfaces, emptying trash, and securing food storage.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Proven experience as a line cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must possess Food Handlers Card.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group environment.
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Possession of valid Food Handler’s Card
