Job Purpose:
The Night Auditor plays a unique and vital role-during overnight operations. The Night Auditor works independently, acting as the primary point of contact overnight while maintaining the safety, professionalism, and smooth operation of the property.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet and assist guests during late-night and early-morning hours, including check-ins, check-outs, and inquiries.
Make and manage guest reservation’s, ensuring accurate information and availability.
Handle phone calls, take messages, and provide information to guests as needed.
Monitor and manage hotel systems overnight, including emergency response procedures, guest requests, and security protocols.
Works with valet team to post night valet parking charges.
Process no-show charges, review folios for accuracy, and correct billing errors when necessary.
Review daily handover and communicate pertinent notes to the morning front desk team.
Maintain the cleanliness, security, and presentation of the lobby, front desk, and shared guest spaces overnight.
Perform any and all other duties as requested by management in support of hotel operations.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional hospitality or accounting training preferred.
Prior hotel front desk or night audit experience strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of PMS systems and Microsoft Office tools is a plus.
Comfort with handling financial data, reports, and guest service responsibilities independently.
Professional Characteristics:
Calm, dependable, and self-directed, with the ability to work overnight shifts independently.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially with numerical data and financial reports.
Warm and guest-focused demeanor, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
