General Description

The purpose of this job is monitoring activities at a solid waste disposal site, maintaining site appearance and collecting solid waste.

Duties and Responsibilities

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

• Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean.
• Greets the public and directs them to the proper location for disposing of materials, including recyclables, monitors dumpsite for illegal dumping.
• Operates the trash compactor at a solid waste collection site.
• Performs any assigned general grounds keeping duties.
• Performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: None

Experience: Requires customer service training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Special Certifications and Licenses

None.

Physical Demands

Medium Work – Involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying objects weighting up to 25 pounds.
