Food Server

POSITION PURPOSE:

Sells and service of food and/or beverage to in include order-taking and delivery of food and/or beverage items. This task is to be handled in a quick, efficient and courteous manner in accordance with all company standards, policies and procedures resulting in a high level of guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Carry work cards at all times during your shift. Serve alcohol responsibly in accordance with alcohol awareness training.
  • Inform the immediate supervisor of any product shortages and equipment needs.
  • Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive and professional image.
  • Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so. Comply with Board of Health Standards.
  • Must maintain good personal grooming and uniform standards while on duty.
  • Have knowledge of where your MSDS booklet is located for your area.
  • Displays knowledge of all emergency procedures.
  • Responsible for informing the immediate supervisor on duty of any team member or guest opportunities.
  • Performs any other duties as directed by management.
  • Promotes a safe and clean environment for fellow team members and guests.
  • Always keep your work area clean.
  • Greet guests pleasantly, quickly, efficiently and with a smile.
  • Know the menu completely including daily specials, food preparations and prices.
  • Use suggestive selling (cocktails, appetizers, desserts, etc.)
  • Take guests orders and accurately input the order into micros.
  • Observe and anticipate guest needs, clear tables between courses and refill beverages throughout the meal.
  • Present check for payment when all guest needs have been met.
  • Complete assigned side work and additional daily tasks.
  • Serve guest complete meals using trays with covers on food. Serve all sides and accompaniments in a timely, efficient manner according to all Standards and Sequence of Service.
  • Notify the manager on duty for voids or any guest complaints.
  • Monitor any suspicious guests looking to walk out. Be visible where guests can see you.
  • You must pre-bus your tables. Remove condiments at the same time.
  • Check your food before serving; if it’s not presentable return it.
  • Use proper garnish for food items.
  • Introduction to guests for an on coming relief server before leaving on break or going off duty.
  • Request identification from guest when legal age is questioned.
