Ideal Vacuum is seeking a Fabrication Shop Helper to support our welding and fabrication operations. Successful candidates are comfortable operating shop equipment, handling materials safely, and assisting with general shop organization and upkeep.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow verbal and written instructions, cooperate with team members, and maintain strong focus to stay productive. Methodical work and attention to detail are valued. After OJT (on-the-job training) and a probationary period, a shop helper at Ideal Vacuum is:
- Attentive to work area cleanliness and organization.
- Concerned with work accuracy and attention to detail.
- Supporting the welding team to increase production speed.
- Capable of independently operating shop fabrication equipment in a safe manner.

EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE
- High school diploma or equivalent desired.
- Experience with metalworking equipment such as sanders, grinders, and saws.
- Welding and fabrication experience appreciated but not required.
- Forklift license/certification preferred.
- Proficient in computer usage.
JOB TASKS
This position primarily supports the weld and fabrication team. Common work activities include:
- Plate finishing/polishing.
- Beveling.
- Electrochemical weld cleaning/passivation.
- Power/hand tool operation.
- Band saw and circular saw operation.
- Manipulating heavy workpieces.
- Operating ultrasonic part washers.
