Position Summary:
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supports the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department. This includes supervising room attendants, laundry staff, and public area cleaners to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and safety are consistently maintained throughout the hotel. The role is especially critical in an extended stay environment where guests expect a “home away from home” experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing housekeeping operations for guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and storage rooms
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards are met and exceeded daily
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure adherence to brand and cleanliness standards
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering housekeeping supplies and linen stock
- Train, coach, and supervise room attendants and other housekeeping team members
- Help create team schedules, manage daily assignments, and approve timecards as needed
- Address guest requests, concerns, and housekeeping-related service issues promptly and professionally
- Support Executive Housekeeper with monthly deep-clean schedules and special projects
- Report and follow up on all maintenance and safety issues in guest rooms and public spaces
- Enforce safety and sanitation policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with local and brand regulations
- Serve as acting department leader in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality-related certifications a plus
- Minimum 1–2 years of housekeeping or hospitality supervisory experience (extended stay hotel experience preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with a diverse team
- Professional demeanor and a guest-focused attitude
- Familiarity with housekeeping procedures, safety standards, and MSDS requirements
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25–50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
