Shop Helper / Fabrication Trainee – Learn a Skilled Trade

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour and up, based on experience

Schedule: Day Shift | Monday–Friday

Typical Hours: 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM (hours may vary) Overtime offered

No prior fabrication experience required — we will train the right candidate.

Position Overview

The Shop Helper / Fabrication Trainee supports daily shop operations while learning fabrication techniques used in sheet metal manufacturing. This role provides a pathway from entry-level helper to experienced shop mechanic through on-the-job training and skill development.

What You’ll Learn & Do

  • Assist with bending, forming, assembling, and fabrication of sheet metal
  • Learn how to safely operate fabrication equipment and tools
  • Measure and prepare materials using a tape measure and shop drawings
  • Support experienced shop mechanics and fabricators
  • Maintain organized and safe work areas
  • Participate in hands-on training and skill development

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Comfortable working with tools and in a shop environment
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Construction, mechanical, or shop experience is helpful but not required
