Summary

Thompson Houston is now recruiting for Seasonal Pool Bartenders. Join our hotel team as we launch a new destination restaurant concept within Thompson Houston Hotel. This position is available to start immediately and will be a part of a new restaurant relaunch this summer. The 3-meal dining venue includes an expanded 1-acre pool deck serving hotel guests and residents, luxury cabanas, private event spaces, indoor-outdoor dining areas and the best views of downtown. Thompson Pool Bartenders are responsible for providing libations and offering customized recommendations. The right person should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar. This position offers opportunity for casual conversation, creativity and allows for building on one’s style and previous bartending experiences. Preferred candidates will have understanding of state and local serving guidelines.

Duties & Functions

  • Uphold company policies, including safety, sanitation, attendance, and dress code guidelines.
  • Ensure perishable items are properly labeled, rotated, and discarded to maintain quality control.
  • Provide prompt, friendly, and professional service to guests, anticipating their needs and responding to questions.
  • Greet guests warmly, assist with seating, and provide menus, water, and drinks.
  • Communicate specials, explain menu items and dietary considerations, and take accurate orders.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage delivery.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly, maintaining proper presentation and timing.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction, addressing requests, refilling drinks, and clearing plates.
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally, escalating to management as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service, including assisting during busy periods.
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently, presenting bills to guests.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including side work and station setup.
  • Participate in training sessions, department meetings, and pre-shift meetings.
