Job Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Head Housekeeping professional to lead and support the housekeeping team in maintaining clean and welcoming guest rooms and public areas. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, service-focused, and capable of managing day-to-day housekeeping operations. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with brand standards
- Lead daily housekeeping operations and conduct team shift meetings
- Supervise, train, and assist housekeeping staff as needed
- Ensure equipment (vacuums, carts, laundry machines) is maintained and functional
- Track and manage supplies, inventory, and guest loaned items (e.g., cribs, rollaway beds)
- Communicate with maintenance and front desk teams for efficient operations
- Maintain accurate records: checklists, inventory logs, training sheets, etc.
- Monitor safety and sanitation compliance; enforce key control and guest privacy policies
- Provide excellent customer service to guests and assist with issues professionally
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- 2+ years of housekeeping experience (required)
- 2+ years of IHG hotel experience (preferred)
- IHG training certifications (preferred)
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Basic computer skills (for reports, inventory, and checklists)
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for long periods
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
