Join our dynamic construction team as a Carpenter / Laborer, where you’ll play a vital role in transforming blueprints into reality! This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from framing and trim carpentry to restoration and remodeling. You’ll be an essential part of a collaborative crew, utilizing your skills to build, repair, and restore structures with precision and enthusiasm. Tired of running around from job location to job location, this position is at one location, performing carpentry maintenance in a government building. We can offer 40 hour weeks with some opportunity for overtime as projects require. There are paid holidays, two weeks’ vacation, sick leave, and additional money provide for health insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Perform framing, trim carpentry, siding, drywall installation, and fixture hanging with attention to detail.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for various construction tasks.
  • Support fabrication tasks such as cabinetry assembly, metal fabrication, and custom fixture creation such as laminate or Corian.
  • Handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining a clean and organized work site; assist with demolition or remodeling projects.
  • Maintain interior commercial buildings to include floorings, ceiling tile systems (ACT), patching and painting, and general carpentry services.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and industry standards throughout all phases of construction.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in commercial construction – carpentry, remodeling, maintenance
  • Proficiency with hand tools (saws, hammers, chisels) and power tools (drills, saws) essential for daily tasks.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project implementation.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces when necessary.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
