Job Summary:

The Busser cleans, clears, and sets tables in the restaurant. They provide support to restaurant staff by managing restaurant supplies such as napkins, straws, crockery, and cutlery to ensure that the restaurant and supplies are clean and organized. They may also deliver or assist delivering food to diners on request of wait staff or supervisors. The Busser is expected to maintain the Club’s high standards of excellence in appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness in all areas of the Club. safety and presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Set up the dining room for service by cleaning and dressing tables, arranging décor, and placing condiments, candles, napkins, service ware, and utensils.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment by following all health and safety standards.
  • Clear and reset tables efficiently by removing finished courses, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, delivering food, and attending promptly to member needs.
  • Support service staff by stocking and maintaining condiment stations, bus stations, and trash receptacles.
  • Perform closing duties, including cleaning tables and chairs, sweeping and/or vacuuming floors, and removing trash and recyclables.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and service knowledge.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and initiative by assisting with additional tasks and supporting team operations as needed.
  • Assist servers with table preparation by delivering and placing appropriate table settings and linens.
  • Welcome members and guests by assisting with the service of beverages and hors d’oeuvres upon arrival.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas by completing assigned side work and scheduled deep cleaning tasks.
  • Promote a safe work environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards, including promptly cleaning spills to prevent accidents.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience in hospitality, restaurant, or club environment preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, preferred.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to handle or feel. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to multi-task and complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
