Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation tasks including chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients to support meal assembly
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing work surfaces, and organizing utensils and ingredients
• Support cooking activities by preparing basic ingredients under supervision and following established recipes and procedures
• Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling and storage guidelines to prevent contamination
• Help with meal plating and presentation to ensure dishes meet quality standards before serving
• Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to keep the kitchen well-equipped for busy service periods
• Support catering events or large orders by preparing bulk ingredients and assisting with setup

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or food industry setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with cooking techniques are advantageous
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude and willingness to support kitchen staff
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks
