Hotel Front Desk

MorningShift 8am to 3pm (6 day/week)

Days Inn – St. George, UT

Days Inn in St. George is now hiring for a friendly and positive front desk agent that understands the concept of exceptional Hotel guest service. The candidate must be flexible to work Graveyard shift including weekends and holidays. The front desk agent is responsible for front office operations Must be able to multi-task and prioritize with excellent follow up skills and customer service. Responsible for ensuring 100% satisfaction from the moment a guest arrives at the hotel until they check out.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greeting guests and checking them into and out of the hotel, fulfilling their requests during their stay
  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
  • Possesses working knowledge of the reservations department. Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary. Know the cancellation policy.
  • Knows the room locations, types of rooms available and room rates
  • Greets, registers , and assigns rooms to guests in accordance with established front office procedures
  • Issues room key and escort instructions to guests as appropriate
  • Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services; registration of guests and shopping, dining entertainment, and travel directions.
  • Understands and complies with Company established front office operating procedures, including Signature training, Accounting Manual Policies and Procedures, Cash Handling Procedures and credit Card Policy and Procedures.
  • Keeps updated and accurate records of room availability and guests accounts.
  • Posts charges to guest folios in an accurate and timely manner, such as room, food, and telephone charges.
  • Coordinates with housekeeping for room status updates, late check outs, checkouts, early check ins, special requests and part- day (day use) rooms.
  • Coordinate guest room maintenance with the engineering and maintenance department
  • Uses persuasive selling techniques to sell rooms and promote services of the hotel
  • Knows daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel
  • Reports and unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager
  • Manages and resolves all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintains log of guest issues
  • Processes guest check outs and handles monetary transactions
  • Computes bill, collects payment, and makes change for guests.
  • Operates Property Management System and its interfaces.
  • Prepares guest amenity kits and key cards
  • Assists guests with information about the city, sightseeing and local events
  • Maintains customer privacy
  • May assist with set up and clean-up of Continental Breakfast.
  • May assist in cleaning of all public space areas and guest rooms as needed.
  • Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanour
  • Any other duties or responsibilities which might be required by a manager
