Duties and Responsibilities:
· Remove laundry from chutes and carts
· Sort all linens and treat stains
· Maintain count of discarded items
· Ensure chemicals are used and stored correctly
· Load all laundry into washer and add specified cleaning agents
· Take wet, clean items and dry as directed
· Fold and stack towels, sheets and linens to hotel standards and keep stock organized
· Wash bed wraps, duvets, mattress pads, and blankets in accordance with hotel standards
· Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicate needs to General Manager
· Clean lint trays and dryer vents
· Maintain all laundry equipment and inform General Manager of any maintenance needs
· Ensure soiled and damaged linens are stored in appropriate bags and disposed of correctly
· Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
· Maintain regular attendance and timeliness in compliance with hotel standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
· Maintain a professional image and positive attitude at all times
· Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service
Management Contributions for Success:
· Providing brand standard training on the efficient way to run the laundry room
· Provide feedback throughout training process
· Assist with any training that may be required to enhance job performance
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Basic reading, writing and math skills
This job requires the ability to perform the following:
· Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and the ability to push and pull
· Prolonged standing and moving about the hotel
· Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
· Frequently bending, stooping and kneeling
· Able to work alone as well as being a team member
· Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
