Job Purpose:

  • The Medical Assistant at SPC LLC is responsible for supporting healthcare professionals by performing a range of administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of medical facilities. This role is crucial in providing high-quality patient care and enhancing the efficiency of healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients as they arrive at the facility, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, maintaining an organized and efficient calendar for healthcare providers.
  • Record patient information, including medical history and vital signs, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests and handle specimens for laboratory analysis as required.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers, following all safety protocols.
  • Maintain medical supplies inventory by checking stock and placing orders when necessary.
  • Provide patient education and instructions for follow-up care, ensuring patients understand their treatment plans.
  • Assist with billing and coding of medical services, ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient accounts.
  • Adhere to all healthcare regulations and company policies, maintaining a high standard of patient care and safety.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a medical assistant training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a medical assistant in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and handling billing and insurance paperwork
  • Experience in clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with patient examinations, and preparing laboratory specimens

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other medical software applications
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare practices
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
