Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a positive first impression and guiding them to their tables
- Manage reservation bookings and waitlists using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Assist servers by delivering menus, refilling beverages, and responding promptly to guest needs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining areas to ensure a welcoming atmosphere
- Support guest relations by addressing inquiries courteously and providing information about menu items or restaurant policies
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to coordinate seating arrangements and service flow
- Uphold phone etiquette standards when handling reservations or guest inquiries via phone or online platforms
Skills
- Proven experience as a host or hostess in a fast-paced food service environment
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and professionally
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact clearly with guests and team members
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred
- Previous experience in hospitality or hotel guest services is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of serving protocols, guest relations, and phone etiquette to enhance overall guest experience
