Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Garage Door Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of garage doors and openers, ensuring safety, functionality, and customer satisfaction. Your expertise in mechanical systems, construction techniques, and various hand and power tools will be essential to deliver top-quality service. Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot garage doors, openers, and related hardware using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble and install garage door systems.
  • Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Conduct door hanging, frame carpentry, metal stud framing, and trim carpentry tasks for secure installations.
  • Use welding skills for metal fabrication or repairs when necessary.
  • Apply locksmithing knowledge for lock installation or adjustments on garage doors.
  • Complete caulking, fixture installation, cabinet installation, electrical wiring (if applicable), and other remodeling tasks as required.
  • Ensure all installations meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed and communicate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Assist with construction site setup and cleanup to uphold a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with glass installation, door hanging, or related construction projects.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fabrication, welding, or electrical work preferred.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on various job sites.
  • Construction site experience with familiarity in carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry) and remodeling projects.
  • Knowledge of locksmithing techniques and fixture or cabinet installation is a plus.
  • Experience with metal stud framing or electrical wiring is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred; willingness to travel between job sites as needed.
