Our client, a food services provider, is currently seeking a Cook for their busy cafeteria operation located near Meaford, ON. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is confident and comfortable working in a busy setting. They’ll have excellent interpersonal skills, superior attention to detail, and experience working & managing a kitchen or cafeteria like setting. Day or afternoon shifts available with wage starting at $23.00 per hour.

About The Role

The Cook role is vital in the preparation and cooking of both live-service and high-quality boxed meals for a large volume cafeteria environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, personable, and thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong attention to detail—especially when handling customized orders—and a team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this role. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining Compliance with Menu
• Preparing Appropriate Portions
• Following Set Out Recipes
• Helping with Inventory Control
• Providing On Time Orders on Order Days
• Maintaining Consistent Cleaning Schedule of Kitchen & Kitchen Equipment
• Providing Meals for Special Diets
• Over-seeing & Helping Develop Junior Staff
• Directing Junior Staff in Production
• Providing 400 Plus Meals in Dining Room, with Hay Box Orders
• Demonstrating Knowledge of Proper Cooking Techniques
• Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1 year in Food Services Environment as a Cook (Kitchen, Cafeteria or Restaurant)
