Responsibilities
- Assist customers with their selections, answer questions about baked goods, and provide friendly service to enhance their shopping experience
- Prepare baked items and other confections with attention to detail and quality standards
- Decorate cakes using cake decorating techniques to meet customer specifications or special occasions
- Package baked goods efficiently while maintaining presentation quality and adhering to food safety guidelines
- Support food production activities such as mixing ingredients, portioning dough or batter, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and maintaining hygiene standards at all times
- Restock shelves with fresh baked goods, organize displays, and ensure the bakery area is clean and inviting for customers
Qualifications
- Previous experience in baking, pastry arts, or a related food industry role is highly preferred
- Skilled in cake decorating, food preparation, and general kitchen techniques
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely including knives, mixers, ovens, and other baking tools
- Experience in packaging baked goods for retail or catering purposes is a plus
- Culinary experience in restaurants or catering environments is advantageous but not required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
