Kitchen Lead Immediate Hire | Zanzibar Cuisine & Lounge
$20–23/hour | Brunch & Evening Availability Required
Position Overview
Zanzibar Cuisine & Lounge is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Kitchen Lead to support back-of-house operations and maintain consistency, efficiency, and quality in a fast-paced dining and lounge environment.
This role focuses on kitchen execution, team support, and service leadership. The Kitchen Lead will run the line, manage ticket flow, support inventory organization, and ensure food safety standards are upheld.
This is a working leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations & Execution
- Oversee daily prep, cooking, plating, and presentation
- Manage ticket flow and kitchen pacing during high-volume service
- Ensure recipe adherence, portion control, and plating consistency
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and communicate improvement ideas
- Lead food production for dine-in service and private events
Inventory Support
- Assist with weekly inventory counts
- Maintain organization of storage areas using FIFO practices
- Support prep systems to prevent waste and shortages
Staffing & Team Leadership
- Support scheduling needs as directed
- Supervise and coach BOH team members during service
- Lead pre-shift huddles when needed
- Enforce accountability and kitchen standards
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
