Full job description

Peninsula Catholic High School seeks a Cafeteria Assistant who supports daily food service operations by assisting with the preparation and service of à la carte meals for students, faculty, and staff, and has a desire to be part of a community with over a 120-year history of excellence in Catholic education.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cafeteria Assistant, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, clean, and efficient dining environment for our school community. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, stocking, and attractively displaying daily à la carte food items
  • Assisting with weekly food purchasing and inventory management
  • Washing dishes, cookware, utensils, and food service equipment
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and cafeteria, including sinks, countertops, service warmers, appliances, microwaves, tables, and water fountains
  • Mopping kitchen floors and supporting overall cleanliness and food safety standards

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a team-oriented environment and takes pride in providing a positive dining experience

Position Details & Qualifications

This is a regular part-time, 10-month position, averaging approximately 20 hours per week, typically scheduled between 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Hours may vary based on daily operational needs.

Qualifications include:

  • A valid Basic Food Handler Certificate (required)
  • Ability to perform moderate physical activity, including standing for extended periods, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds
